Sunday School News for September, 2007

Our Sunday school staff were installed after the September 9th Worship Service. The staff for our 2007-2008 school year are:

God Squad News

Pre-Kindergarten to 6th Grade:

Our four week theme starting Sept. 9th: Respect

Bible Verse: “Respect Everyone” 1 Peter 2:17a

Living Inside Out Theme: David sparing King Saul’s Life in 1 Samuel 24:1-22 shows us it’s good to respect those in charge. In our lives, we’re called to respect teachers, bosses, parents, and elected officials. Jesus is, and always should be, our ultimate authority, but we still need to respect our human authorities.

Memorization Awards
We will be recognizing students who have completed their grade level memorization.

Lord’s Prayer: 1st Grade
Ten Commandments: 2nd Grade
New Testament Books: 3rd Grade
Old Testament Books: 4th Grade
Apostles’ Creed: 5th Grade
Meanings of Apostles’ Creed and Ten Commandments: 6th

7th and 8th Grade:

This year we will be closely following the Thursday Confirmation class to help give our confirmands support on their two year studies to be members of our congregation and celebrate communion with us.

We are also working on memorizing the books of the Old Testament. We have the following to help us remember them.
